The Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) has engaged Sean Finlay to provide Business Development Services to Geoscience Ireland (GI) for a further two years.
“At this stage, we believe that the GI brand is becoming firmly established; the membership has been significantly enlarged from 5 to 21 companies and it is working well in a collaborative way, with several significant overseas projects being won by members” said Koen Verbruggen, Director of GSI.
GI has strong links to Enterprise Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. GI members are active in over 50 countries, providing expertise in geology, hydrogeology, geotechnical and environmental engineering, water services and capacity building to governments, international financial institutions and to private companies.
GI has hosted several forums where other Irish companies have been invited to present and explore collaboration opportunities with GI members. GI has also established a Panel of 20 Independent Experts.
Sean is a Professional Geologist and Chartered Engineer with 40 years’ experience in mineral exploration, mining and infrastructure development in Ireland, the FSU, Ghana, Mali and Canada. He is a former President of the Irish Mining & Quarrying Society.
