Enterprise Ireland hosted a seminar on 13th November in Edinburgh on business opportunities in Scotland’s infrastructure development.
Among the attendees were four companies from Geoscience Ireland; geotechnical consultants AGEC and GDG; geospatial surveyors Coastway and civil and geotechnical engineering consultancy, Byrne Looby.
At a subsequent reception hosted by the Irish Consul General Pat Bourne, delegates heard from Transport Scotland’s CEO David Middleton of his agency’s ambitious plans for major investments in road and rail infrastructure. These projects are already providing opportunities for Irish designers and contractors.
Commenting on the event, Sean Finlay of Geoscience Ireland said;
“Several Geoscience Ireland members are winning contracts in Scotland – Coastway, AGEC, APEX, BLP, GDG and Priority Geotechnical are all active in this market. The continuing support of Enterprise Ireland and of the Irish Consulate is an essential part of these success stories”.
