Geoscience Ireland (GI) is pleased to announce that IE Consulting, a water, environmental and civil engineering consultancy based in Carlow, Ireland, is GI’s newest member.
IE Consulting specialises in the provision of water, environmental and civil engineering consultancy services, in particular water resource engineering, hydrology and flood risk assessment, hydrogeology, groundwater assessment and development, contaminated land and environmental assessment.
IE are leaders in the use of Integrated Constructed Wetlands for wastewater and flood management.
Its principals are Jer Keohane, a Chartered Environmental Engineer with over 30 years experience in water and geotechnical work, Paul McShane, a Civil Engineer with extensive hydrology, drainage and flood risk assessment experience, and Roger Matthews, a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineers and tunnelling expert with over 40 years experience. All three have worked on water projects in the Middle East, while Jer has also worked in Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Estonia. Paul has also worked on projects in West Africa whilst Roger has also worked on projects in southern Africa and was the resident engineer on the Greater Cairo Wastewater Scheme.
Welcoming IE Consulting to GI, Koen Verbruggen, the Director of the Geological Survey of Ireland and Chairman of Geoscience Ireland (GI) said;
