    Project Objectives

Zosin is one of five road checkpoints on the Polish- Ukrainian border and is a site of frequent delays for vehicles waiting processing to either enter or leave Poland. It was expected that upgrade works would increase the vehicle processing capacity of this facility from approx 2,500 vehicles per day to 5,000 vehicles per day.

    Our Role

Geoscience Ireland partners have undertaken the design to expand & upgrade the facility on a 6 hectare site, to make it more efficient, culturally appropriate & environmentally accountable. The scheme includes new buildings, with a combined area of 6,000m2, comprising administration, technical services, public facilities, loading/ unloading bays and toll booths in conjunction with the upgraded internal road network and associated ancillary services. Extensive pre-planning was necessary to develop the most efficient layout in order to double the vehicle processing capacity.
