CETA: Doorway to a €516 billion opportunity for Europe

On the 15th of February, the European Parliament ratified the ‘Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement’ (CETA) between the European Union and Canada. The agreement is still subject to approval by national governments, however the benefits of the agreement can already be capitalised upon. Read more

The annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention and Trade Show is the largest international meeting of its type in the world, with attendance in recent years exceeding 25,000 delegates. PDAC has been an important platform for countries seeking to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in mineral exploration and mining. Read more

Geoscience Ireland Welcomes ‘Action Plan For Jobs 2017’

The Government has earlier this month announced its strategic plan for job creation aimed at meeting the long-term, sustained goals outlined in ‘Enterprise 2025’. A survey of the 28* companies comprising the Geoscience Ireland (GI) business cluster has shown that 179 new jobs were created by GI companies in 2016. This matches the 178 new jobs created in 2015. Read more
