Geoscience Ireland (GI) is pleased to announce that it has joined the Irish Exporters Association (IEA), which represents the whole spectrum of Irish companies serving export markets globally.
The IEA, in association with PwC, recently hosted a panel discussion in Dublin on the practical issues facing companies seeking to increase trade with Africa.
Andrew Gaynor – Business Development Executive, Geoscience Ireland (GI) – joined Tim Morgan (Africa Business Forum and Minelab), Pat Higgins (Queally Group) and Paul Monekesso Cleal (PwC UK) in a panel discussion describing the opportunities and challenges facing Irish companies operating in Sub-Saharan Africa.
6 GI members currently operate in 9 African countries; Andrew outlined the types of projects that GI members tendered for in infrastructure development, energy and mining. He also discussed challenges in terms of access to markets, funding, legislation & political risk, education and cultural awareness and Africa’s talent offering.
