J. B. Barry and Partners Limited in Joint Venture with Jennings O’Donovan & Partners and Ülker Engineering Consulting have been appointed to provide technical assistance, capacity building and management support to Amasya Municipality, it’s Water Utility Department and Project Implementation Unit (PIU) with construction supervision of the Wastewater treatment plant over a 29-month period; to implement improvements in water (metering); and Wastewater collection & treatment. Amasya, is located in Northern Turkey, has a population of 340,000.
The project involves:
- Pressure zoning of the water distribution network (approx. 34 District Metering Areas);
- New Valves, Hydrants & House Connections;
- 1st stage of WWTP (Extended Aeration) to cater for 116,600 PE – i.e. to 2025;
- Approx. 100km wastewater collection network, pumping stations and new interceptor sewer to the WWTP;
- 2.5km interceptor sewer with inverted siphon;
- Supervision of Contractor’s Training and WWTP Testing & Performance during 1-year Defects Notification Period
