Project Objectives

An optimisation review to determine improvements in the Design and operation of the anaerobic digestion plant at Bacardi Puerto Rico.

Our Role

Geoscience Ireland partners were reqested to undertake a detailed assessment of the anaerobic digestion wastewater treatment plant in Bacardi, and to prepare a detailed design review, including a review of all potential process issues, shock loading, inhibition of digester performance, methane generation rates, biogas quality, biomedia quality and performance energy balance and capacity for expansion AWN prepared a detailed report with findings and recommendations, which was submitted to the Plant Design Team as part an optimisation and review programme.
