Geotechnical issues include:

  • Extensive Sabkha deposits (soft silts/clays)
  • Previous uncontrolled filling
  • Potential for Differential settlements between roads and buildings
  • Potential for Cavities in underlying Gypsum

Project Objectives/Outcomes

BLP undertaking planning, supervision and management of ground investigations and interpretative reporting, including:

  • Gap analysis to develop tailored, optimised SI program
  • Recommendations for foundation design & ground improvement
  • Settlement interface between piled building foundations and infrastructure
  • Liquefaction analysis

Our Role

Byrne Looby Partners have been commissioned by JLA International Engineering (JLA), to act as the Geotechnical Designer for the Garden Crescent Project Residential Community Development (total site area of approximately 220 hectares and will contain 1020 residential villas, associated community facilities and retail units), Zone K at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
