The Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) is a 40-kilometer long wastewater tunnel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The programme is in direct response to rapid growth in recent years.

Our Role

BLP have been commissioned by Zublin International to provide geotechnical design services for the Link sewer LS01 and LS02 contracts.
Shafts are to be constructed using tied, precast concrete, segmental caissons or secant piles, with shaft diameters varying from 4m to 8m to depths in excess of 25m.
BLP’s role includes all geotechnical interpretation and design, design of temporary shafts, and ground movement/construction impact assessments, in addition to providing a full-time on-site geotechnical role.
