SENACE (National Environmental Certification Service for Sustainable Investments)/SPDA (Peruvian Society of Environmental Law): Providing training and advice to SENACE on improving social and resettlement practice on complex mining projects in Peru. This included running internal training courses and also facilitating a national workshop with representatives of the main mining companies on international good practice.
Antamina: Together with Peruvian local partner (CCPM) providing advice to the Antamina mine on aligning their approach to social and resettlement with international good practice. This includes meetings with Antamina staff, communities and government agencies in Antamina region and benchmarking visits to other mining projects in Peru. The output will be a report with recommendations on improved practice.
Project Objectives/Outcomes
The general objective of the two pieces of work is to improve social and resettlement practice on mining projects in Peru.
Our Role
Eddie Smyth from Intersocial is the lead international advisor on social and resettlement to SENACE and Antamina.
