Project Objective
Supporting the Damascus Water Supply and Sewerage Authority for the implementation of a €100 million capital works programme (Part funding by European Investment Bank).
The project addressed the extreme scarcity of drinking water in the area, with some 90% of water resources allocated for irrigation. It also addressed public health issues through improvements to the sewerage network.
The project concerned the renewal of the water supply and sewerage system including the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the project area of Alsaida Zeinab in 2 phases.
