Project Objectives
A Pavement Assessment Project was carried out for 4 sections of motorway in Turkey. The assessment consisted of Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing carried out by PMS, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) carried out by APEX Geoservices Limited.
Our Role
To determine the pavement layer thicknesses and to resolve construction changes a Ground Penetrating Radar Survey was carried out by APEX Geoservices Limited. Over 450 lane km of GPR data was recorded using GPR equipment attached to a vehicle. The data was collected at road speed to avoid the need for traffic management and disruption to the general public. APEX Geoservices Limited carried out the acquisition, processing and interpretation of the GPR data and provided the required pavement layer thicknesses and construction changes.
