ByrneLooby Celebrates International Women’s Day 2021

June 23, 2021/in News

Geoscience Ireland member ByrneLooby has been celebrating International Women’s Day 2021 and highlighted the importance of today. Celebrating the successes of less well-represented members in our industry is an integral part of redressing workplace imbalance. Raising the profile of women engineers and highlighting their impressive work and career milestones is vital to encourage the next generation of engineering women.

Meet ByrneLooby’s Engineering Hero’s, who deliver on significant projects for communities and the wider society.

Claire Finney, Senior Consultant at ByrneLooby – St Helens Office

Claire works mainly in environmental permitting in the waste regulation sector, often consulting on multiple projects at any one time. With seven years of experience, Claire’s expertise includes delivering permit applications for landfills, waste facilities, including risk assessments of emissions, and managing monitoring and reporting requirements, ensuring that our clients comply with the regulations that govern their activities and developments.

Debora de Ross Zolet, BIM Engineer at ByrneLooby – Galway Office

Debora has been working on engineering projects for almost seven years. Having joined ByrneLooby over a year ago, Debora is now an integral member of our Galway team and operates within the water and wastewater sector. In this short time, Debora has worked on several significant projects, including the Saggart reservoir for Irish Water, one of the highlights of her career so far. Debora has worked across different project stages and has become a vital member of the project delivery.

Lerika Eigelaar, Project Engineer at ByrneLooby – Bahrain Office

Lerika Eigelaar is a member of our Bahrain team and, as a project engineer, is currently working on a coastline development project in Saudi Arabia. The development project includes the design of quay walls, edge protection options, two beaches and two marinas. The objective of the development is to improve the quality of life for Saudi citizens and to meet growing expectations for social and leisure facilities in the Kingdom. With six years of engineering experience under her belt, Lerika is a crucial driver behind the success of our projects.

Zainab Muradi, Graduate Engineer at ByrneLooby – Bahrain Office

Zainab is a Graduate Engineer at ByrneLooby who is keen on becoming a Chartered Engineer. With two years of engineering experience, Zainab helps execute significant projects for the marine and structures team at ByrneLooby across the Middle East. She is currently working on a berth expansion project to accommodate larger cruise vessels that will provide new revenue streams for the port as well as improved employment and tourism in the region.

ByrneLooby is an Engineering Services and Project Management Consultancy in the water, infrastructure and marine sectors with offices in Ireland, UK, Saudi Arabia, Doha and UAE delivering projects with capital values up to $2BN. It specialises in working as the Employers/Clients Representative and in providing engineering services to EPC and D&B groups.
