Geoscience Ireland Business Cluster ; Jobs and Turnover Grow in 2024
Geoscience Ireland’s (GI) 32 members reported strong employment and turnover growth for 2024. Job numbers increased by 210 (+5%) while turnover increased by almost 8% to €1,330 M. Some job losses were noted in Offshore Wind with most other sectors remaining buoyant. GI members main concerns remain centered on access to skills and rising costs.
Commenting on the results, GI Director Dermot Duff said;
” Members of the Geoscience Ireland (GI) Cluster continue to deliver growth in highly skilled jobs across several sectors. GI was set up to in 2012 to deal with the Global Economic Crash. In the face of current global economic turbulence, support for business clusters and Irish based SMEs needs to come into sharp focus again. At present, Cluster Policy remains poorly developed in Ireland ; its future development represents an early win for refocusing our enterprise policy.”
