RTE “The Island – 1.8 Billion Years in the Making” presented by Liz Bonnin (above) and produced by New Decade TV in association with Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) started last Sunday. It was a fascinating, beautifully made story of the geological history of Ireland.  Episode 1 is now available on RTE Player and the series will also be shown on  BBC Two NI from Sunday 18^th September.  The remaining 2 episodes will be on RTE One at 6:30pm on 18^th and 25^th September.  Well worth a watch not only for the geology and scenery but also for a number of familiar contributors, including staff from GI members iCRAG and GSI.
