Team Ireland completes successful PDAC show
The virtual Prospectors and Developers Association Canada (PDAC) show took place last week, March 8- 11, and the annual Ireland ‘Open for Business’ forum attracted over 180 participants. Geoscience Ireland (GI) was delighted to see its member companies Lisheen Technical & Mining Services, SLR Consulting, BRG, Irish Drilling, CDM Smith, Golder, QME, and Mincon presenting at the Ireland Day.
Now in its 6th year, the Ireland forum – sponsored by Geological Survey Ireland (GI’s parent organisation) – also welcomed speakers from the Embassy of Ireland (Canada) and iCRAG, the Irish Centre for Applied Research in Geoscience. 222 PDAC delegates viewed and reviewed the content with the ‘live’ session attracting 183 people.
Mining consultancy firm Aurum Exploration (and its target and project generation subsidiary Aurum Discovery) took a virtual booth as did the international arms of ERM and SLR; SLR was the PDAC’s ‘Sustainability Stream Partner’ and hosted short courses and technical programmes relating to minex, resources estimation and coding standards.
GI and iCRAG shared a virtual booth for the duration of the show, as did the recently formed Geoscience Policy Division and the Geoscience Regulation Office of the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC).
