Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) won the “Innovative Business of the Year” Award at the Causeway Business Awards on Friday, 15th June. Causeway – the Ireland Scotland Business Exchange – welcomed Ministers Joe McHugh TD and Keith Brown MSP who addressed the 170 attendees.

Joe McHugh TD, Minister of State for Gaeilge, Gaeltacht and the Islands, highlighted the strength of Irish companies in winning business in Scotland and promoted greater access to the Irish market for Scottish companies. In deepening linkages between both countries, he commended Causeway in supporting bilateral trade.

Minister Brown, the Scottish Economy Secretary, noted: “Causeway has played an active role in encouraging businesses to explore the opportunities that exist in both our markets and I’m encouraged to see an increased focus on engagement in Glasgow”. He also confirmed that the Scottish Government has committed £25,000 of funding for Causeway to support its members in growing business.

GDG, which joined Geoscience Ireland in 2014, delivers geotechnical engineering solutions to the Scottish energy and infrastructure market.
